Does anyone feel like your less valued as a nurse because of your field?
Post Body

Pretty much what the title says. Does anyone feel like people think you’re less of a nurse if you’re not working the hospital or skilled nursing facilities? I work in basically a home health setting but it’s with DIDDs patients in their own homes. They rent and live with roommates that also have developmental and intellectual disabilities and the homes are staffed 24/7 with direct support persons and/or nurses depending on the level of care and I sometimes feel like people think I’m less of a nurse.
