HESI Entrance Exam HELP?
Post Body

***Delete if wrong place to post. I saw the rule about the NCLEX, but I'm asking a specific question, so I hope it's okay.***

Hi everyone!

I will be taking the HESI entrance exam soon (hopefully before NEXT Friday if I feel prepared enough) to see if I can make it into the fall nursing program here where I live.

Quick Background: I was getting my core done from 2012-2014 but took a break to be at home with my son. It seems like now is the best time to head back, and I'm very excited. I only need four core classes and am NOT required to retake my A&P classes which I took in 2014 (which I found surprising... believe me... I double checked with the adviser so please no negativity regarding that ... that's their policy). I even asked my advisor if she thought I should just voluntarily retake the classes, and she said "No..." so I'm just going by what she says. Also, she says once I start studying it will come back to me. To her credit, she is MOSTLY right. I made As in both classes.

However, the HESI A2 will have a section on A&P. I've gotten two books, subscribed to NurseHub's practice tests, studying non-stop, and was doing great until today when I hit the muscular system. That's my brick wall I think.

Right now, I'm making a chart of all the muscles that NurseHub's practice test mentioned. The HESI A2 books I have are very limited. I'm wondering just how much of it do I need to try to memorize. I can answer all the questions on what muscles do, what abductors/adductors/extensors/flexors do, what is required for muscle contraction, but it's the specific questions asking which muscle does what sort of thing.

Can anyone please tell me about the experience they had with the A&P section, what questions you may remember, how much of it covered the muscular system, etc...?

Any help is much appreciated!
