Photographer/Subject: Boyfriend/Girlfriend(Us)

The choice of our photo for this event was not easy, as we have a couple of photos we would call „favorite ones“ but for different reasons. One photo is it for „the most emotional“, one photo for „the deepest message“, one photo for „the best composition“. Then we talked about this photo and found that it’s for us the best of these three worlds. We like the composition for the leading lines of light which meet in the main subject of this photo. The motif itself doesn’t wake up emotion, but it’s quite provocative and so it’s waking emotional discussion about the subject of art. That leads to the third point we mentioned, „the deepest message“: Nudeart photography is something that is often misunderstood as porn material by prude parts of the society or people that use NSFW only for sexual pleasure and don’t see the photographic part anymore. While genres like boudoir are still most respected by covering the most intimate parts of the body, it’s getting rougher the more body parts are visible. This motif shows the most intimate part the woman body has but in a way that clearly can’t misunderstood as something sexual. The viewer doesn’t think (or at least that’s what we hope) „Oh, pussy“, but he needs a deeper look to even understand what he is seeing. And that’s all we want here: Bodyparts are only bodyparts without any meaning, as long as society doesn’t give it to them. It doesn’t make sense to call this piece „porn“ when it’s not even clear what we are looking at the first glance. Pretty similar to the „breast discussion“ about the sexualization of the female breast vs the normality of the male chest, a photo of a sexual organ both male and female can be a creative depiction without being porn, even if this isn’t so easy and needs some photographic work. For us personally, our photo does exactly this.
