Speaking higher than normal makes women more attractive both to men and other women. Men are more attractive to women when they pitch-shift lower, but more attractive to other men when they pitch-shift higher. (Zheng et al. 2020)

Whoa, that’s super fascinating. Wonder if attractiveness ratings track egalitarianism or if - as I’ve seen in some other sociocultural studies - people’s notions of attractiveness lag behind in social consciousness. Thanks very much for the reference! And for the kind words.
