I had this idea for a little while. You know how on Audible, when the narrator is speaking for another character, they will come up with a unique voice for that character?
Well, I think there is a pretty unique opportunity here for NovelAI to introduce a feature like this into the Text Adventure mode, to sell the realism a little more.
Imagine you start up a new story, and you immediately run into a character you have yet to see before. Your default voice is male, which would be the narrator voice, the one you select in settings, but when the AI decides this newly introduced character speaks, a new female voice is generated and spoken only for those lines she is speaking.
This voice is then stored in lorebook or some other fashion, and kept track of. So that character will always have that voice when you meet back u with them.
I think this would sell the realism quite a lot, and make each interaction with a character feel very unique. At the moment, things are still great, and I really appreciate having text to speech as a blind user of the site, but I can't help but feel there is some potential on the table here for sure.
