Three sensible suggestions (I think!), in terms of least-controversial, to most-controversial:
1) Once a player has lost, he can then view the whole map. As it currently stands, once you lose, you can only see the areas you have scouted in that game (the rest are still covered by fog-of-war).
The reason I see this as a worthwhile suggestion is because I play with 2 other friends usually on Discord. And when I (or they) get eliminated, it would be a lot more engaging if I can see how their games develop, and still be engaged with more gameplay (as opposed to only statistics).
If there is fear that players who aren't in a party (i.e. players who don't know each other) might try to sabotage one another's game, then I understand. My solution to that is have a checkbox when setting up a multiplayer game: "Tick this box if you are happy with other players viewing the WHOLE map once eliminated."
2) Players can see a description of relics in the statistics post-game.
Once the game ends, you can view how the game developed (tile-by-tile), or hit the statistics and be met with a graph of your progress in various areas. I noticed that for relics, when you hover over them, it only gives you the name of the relic.
My suggestion for improvement is to be able to then click on the relic, and a pop-up box tells you what it does. For me, I can't see a downfall. Makes me more familiar with relics, and it helps me see their potential effects once they were acquired.
3) Scouts currently scout a tile, and it is available for the rest of the game (it makes no difference if this is a neutral tile, or a player tile).
My suggestion is that scouts reveal neutral tiles indefinitely, but player tiles for only a limited period of time. You can see their camp as a 'snapshot' as how it looked until the end of that year (?). After Winter, it stays in that snapshot, until you re-scout it. When you do re-scout it, the scout only takes half the amount of time it would normally take. This player tile is then available again for another year.
This would be a pain-in-the-ass on the large maps, but I haven't played any small/medium games on multiplayer, so unsure if it would feel more appropriate on those maps?
