North Carolinians love to needlessly add “NC” when referring to the state’s biggest cities

Post Body
Just say “Charlotte,” “Raleigh,” “Winston-Salem,” even when talking to non-Carolinians. Adding the state sounds so small town and country. Few from Richmond, St Louis, Baltimore, Minneapolis, or even Boise add the state when referring to their cities. If an American is that ignorant of geography, the burden should be on them to ask what state our cities are in.
