Did I understand correctly?

I am currently listening to the poetic Edda by Jackson Crawford and have just been left a but confused. It sounded like it was saying that in the norse belief after ragnarok there would be 1 God. Is it believed this was added later by Christians or was it there all along? If I have misunderstood something and gotten it completely wrong I'm 100% blaming my lack of sleep
