Hi everyone!
I have some food allergies, asthma, eczema, as well as hayfever - all autoimmune conditions. I've been interested in purchasing "Immuse" from Nootropics Depot. But, I was wondering if it's immune system stimulating effects would exacerbate my condition.
Immuse is a probiotic. Specifically: a special formulation of lactic acid bacteria. Lactic acid bacteria seems to boost the immune system through activating dendritic cells, which in turn boost or support the immune system in a multitude of ways.
One might think that a product that boosts the immune system would be negative for someone with autoimmune conditions, since in such conditions the immune system itself is what is causing the problem.
However this study showed that lactic acid bacteria could "alleviate allergen-induced airway inflammation".
And this study suggests that lactic acid bacteria reduced allergic food sensitivities in mice.
So, it seems that immuse is potentially beneficial to someone with an autoimmune condition like asthma.
I am wondering if anyone here knows whether immuse would be good or bad for someone like me with autoimmune conditions.
