If it matters, it’s my first racetam. I’m pretty experienced with other nootropics and some research chems, but this is the one major class I hadn’t tried.
I started 20 mg sublingually but moved up to 40-50 orally each morning. The first couple days were very disappointing, and just made me feel spacey and lightheaded. The 3rd day was where I started to notice the effects changing. I was more focused and motivated, and not getting as stressed out over things. My academic courseload is very heavy right now, and I’m working on an independent research project as well, but it’s been a lot more manageable over the past week. I’m actually getting on top of things that I’ve been dreading and putting off for the last couple months.
I’ve been trying to take it by itself just to get an objective feel for whether it’s doing anything, but did take some modafinil with it yesterday, and noticed one of the most striking effects. Normally, modafinil and coffee both give me anxiety on their own, but with the fasoracetam, I could have decent amounts of both and not feel bad at all.
And maybe the best effect so far: I have been getting to sleep at a reasonable time each night with little difficulty. Normally insomnia is a major problem for me and I average 6-7 hours a night, so this is a really big deal. The anxiety and insomnia relief almost feels as strong as what I get from Phenibut, without the lack of focus and addictive potential. Hopefully this will continue over a longer basis.
