have you ever had or seen a pet that was just of out of it some sort of way. maybe they were overly scared of everything, or maybe their health deteriorated from few too many walks (or too many kibbles), i could go on, you know your own pets .
certain cats and certain dogs and pets in general I'm sure you've noticed are just better than their peers. why? probably upbringing and genetics, and any deficit in either of these will lead to disadvantages (which is why people like us turn to science-based supplements and nootropics in the first place)
so let's say you had a supplement or nootropic that you knew was very well tolerated in humans,
what's stopping you from giving it to you dog?
I know I know , when you give anything to anybody especially if it's not yourself, you always want to test for allergies or bad reactions at very low doses, so that you wouldn't otherwise get screwed with a 'normal' dose that ends up being too much, especially when there are differing body weight dosages for human and pet, since we all metabolize things at different rates. note: please take the metabolism thing seriously, doses from a human to an animal can vary wildly even when considering relative body weight
given that, has anybody given Nootropics and related to their dogs, or cats, or really any other pets they have?
maybe sprinkle some nootropic powder along with olive oil in some dog food to ensure smell, or diluting something in a water bowl or fish tank?
it is already a thing (not that common) for owners to supplement their pets for bone and joint health
Keep in mind that there are certain OTCs and drugs given both to humans and to dogs where they both serve a purpose. Some stuff we can be both prescribed include:
- Prozac (SSRI Antidepressant)
- Gabapentin (Anxiety)
- Trazadone (Sleep)
- Pantoprazole (GERD)
- T4 (Thyroid Hormone)
- Various antileisure meds
- Steroids, Hormonal things.
- There's 100s more I'm sure.
I mean it's your pet, almost like your kid, and you get to decide what they do and what they eat and the environment they interact in. you're quite literally god to them, and because of that, they'll never ever cheat on you or betray you
so wouldn't you want to repay them for their undying loyalty by ensuring they lived their best life?
sure it sounds risky, but we take risks all the time with confidence and we don't tell anyone about them, and most of the time we happily reap the rewards of such
so who's done it ?
