I just want to see how other people feel about this.
In the rigidly binary world (at least within Western civilization) of the past, there were only two boxes for gender. As we started to become more open-minded, we added a few more widely agreed upon boxes. Now I'd say we have a handful, although I'm not going to put a number on it.
Where does this end? Will we keep subdividing until we reach a state of "one person, one box"? Would that be exciting, terrifying, or something else entirely? How would you feel if the gender binary expanded until one's gender was unique to themselves? Do you think that's the arc we're traveling along at all?
