I asked my parents if I could get a binder and basically they said they were going to talk about it and maybe. My dad is mostly wearied because it can cause problems with ones chest area and even damage someone’s ribs. I know that is possible but form what I understand that is much less likely to occur if you wear the binder properly (not more then 8hours, not sleeping in it ext) My mom didn’t say much about the subject but form what I understand she agrees. I’ve been dealing with a lot of dysphoria lately because of my chest and I believe a binder would really help. If anyone can tell me anything that I can tell my parents to help they agree with me getting a binder that would be great.

maybe you could research how to wear a binder safely, compile some information you find, and then present it to them to show that you are aware of the dangers and dedicated to using it in a safe way? this will also show them how important it is to you.

good luck! :)
