Has anyone ever changed their name, then stopped feeling as connected to it? Has anyone felt like nothing really fits them?
Post Body

Folks who have gone through the full legal name change process, have any of you found yourself, not necessarily with “name regret” per se, but just feeling less connected to the name you ended up picking, over time?

Maybe you found you rushed into the name change because you needed documents to just not have your dead/birth name on them anymore (especially if you were in school, and/or because of work)… or you just grew frustrated with trying to mess around with documents and talking to people. Maybe you genuinely liked it, and now you just… don’t feel like it is you…?

I’ve gone back and forth feeling fluctuating levels meh to “I think maybe I moved too fast back in 2017.” I really couldn’t find a name I felt super connected to that met things I thought that I wanted in a name. I just knew I couldn’t be my dead name anymore. Honestly, I still feel like nothing fits me?
