NP Telling Me off

Post Body

Want to preference that I know some PTs are in the camp of โ€œIโ€™m a doctor,โ€ and Iโ€™m much more in the camp of Iโ€™m a glorified trainer. A family med NP sent me a patient with bilateral leg numbness, incontinence, and up toeing babinski. I had requested the NP send for a Neuro consult and imaging, however she told me that this is just sciatica nerve pain and I should massage her until the patient stops complaining of pain. (I did recommended the pt get worked up at the ED however the patient refused). Not sure if NPs arenโ€™t getting educated on red flags or if this one is just on a power trip
