Want to preference that I know some PTs are in the camp of โIโm a doctor,โ and Iโm much more in the camp of Iโm a glorified trainer. A family med NP sent me a patient with bilateral leg numbness, incontinence, and up toeing babinski. I had requested the NP send for a Neuro consult and imaging, however she told me that this is just sciatica nerve pain and I should massage her until the patient stops complaining of pain. (I did recommended the pt get worked up at the ED however the patient refused). Not sure if NPs arenโt getting educated on red flags or if this one is just on a power trip
