Why are my lower leaves dying?

My lower leaves are turning black and dying. My best guess is poor airflow down there and lack of light getting through the canopy. I just want to confirm it isn’t a pathogen. I foliar sprayed with Cease(Bacillus subtilis) and Milstop(potassium bicarbonate) both from Bioworks up until week 1. Plant health otherwise is fantastic. I plan to defoliate this upcoming week so all these dead leaves are going to get chopped off.
