Why do I feel it in my groin when I satisfy an itch?

Post Body

I recently had a bad run in with poison ivy and my arms are covered in poison ivy blisters. I'm not scratching them, but I do occasionally like to run the blisters under super hot water. It seems to satisfy the itching sensation without the possibility of tearing up the skin.

I've noticed that when I run the blisters under hot water, I not only feel the same relief as if I was scratching, I also feel it in my groin! I don't know how to describe the feeling (other than that it is pleasant). Why I am getting this sensation? Is there some nerve bundle that connects these areas/sensations? It doesn't seem to matter where the blisters are on my body, running them under hot water always gives me a sensation in my groin.
