Can being too "good" of a person intimidate others in a relationship to want to break it off?

Has anyone experienced this phenomenon of being intimidating to a person you are dating and they breaking things off because you're "too good" to them? Feels counter productive in regards to healing, especially if the person you're dating came from a bad relationship.
