I wash "down there" regularly but it still has a scent. How do I get it to go away?

I'm a guy and have recently noticed my entire downstairs area kind of has a vinegar-smell to it. It'a causing a problen with my wife because any time I initiate sex it goes well she gets near my gential area. She's says it's not strong, but very noticeable when next to it. I checked this and she's right. Problen is when I wash in the shower, the smell is definitely lessened but never entirely gone.
