I've noticed a lot of people who own dogs hug their dogs and the dog licks them affectionately on their cheeks and sometimes its tongue even licks over their mouth, and they don;t seems to be disgusted by it but say "good boy" or "good girl!" etc.
But, dogs mouths get in contact with all sorts of other things, not just dog food - they sniff up to other dogs rear ends, and poo, and lick their own private parts. So how come many dog owners are ok with something that has been touching these then licking them in the face?
