How do birds find bird feeders?
Post Body

So I put up a bird feeder with seed in my backyard and 4 days later half the seed is gone. I've never really noticed birds in my backyard before, there is like one 6 foot tall tree back there and no where for them to hang out. Can they like smell the seed? I've never heard about a birds sense of smell, people always say they have good vision though. Do birds eventually learn what a bird feeder looks like and associate it with free food?
