Why has DID become such a viral trend for people to fake?

Post Body

I get that it might be the new “quirky” thing but can anyone honestly explain why it’s caught on?

Edit; I should have specified better, what is the appeal from the fakers standpoint? When Tourette’s was faked at least I could somewhat wrap my head around that seeing as they made their tics funny/cute/etc so it was something they could own as an interesting/desirable trait. But DID is literally split and distinctive personalities, there is no appeal at face value unless you want to seem legitimately insane on a societal level in a really undesirable way.
