Seriously, we have telescopes that can take pictures of deep space objects and celestial bodies that might as well have been taken by a professional photographer, yet we have no pictures of planets outside our solar system. We use all of these different equations for things like chemical composition and heat signatures and stuff, but why can't we just take a photo of the darned thing? I get that a picture doesn't prove for a fact that it's Earth-like or may contain life, but it could show us something, if not just a cool picture of what exoplanets are like.
