How did you study for your driver's Permit Test?

I have taken the driver's permit test at the DMV 3 times over the span of 6 months and failed all 3 times. I feel stupid for failing all those times. I hate waiting in the DMV line for like 3 hours at 5 AM.
I read the DMV Manual 3 times already and I keep failing.
Are there any special strategies that I could maybe incorporate into my studying of the driver's manual other than reading it?
