A lot of people in my family have the gene that makes cilantro taste like soap. The smell alone can ruin a dish for me. I just got some Mexican takeout and the sauce was primarily cilantro and I couldn't even tolerate the smell upon opening the container. (they missed my request for sauce on the side). I'm a white dude that's always dated primarily Latin American women so eat a lot of food that typically has cilantro as they put that shit in everything. Cilantro must actually be delicious if it's so popular so what does it actually taste like? Is it similar tasting to anything else? I just want to know what I'm missing out on.
