Do all french presses need to be disassembled each time?
Post Body

So I recently got into french press, but every time I use it, grounds of coffee get trapped between the screen and the bottom plate. Just a few, but enough that if I don't disassemble the screen keeper every time, the next batch tastes like stale grounds.

Im using a medium grind that's probably a little too fine technically, but I feel like even if I went coarser a few of the smaller particles would get stuck.

Is this just because I got a relatively cheap french press that leaves a gap between the screen and bottom retaining plate, or do they all do this? I'd ask on a coffee sub but I'm afraid I'll be reamed out by coffee snobs.
