What is the appeal in low effort abstract art?
Post Body

There are many pieces of abstract art that I can see took a lot of time and effort to create and genuinely look cool, but then I see stuff like Jackson pollockā€™s splatter paintings (the floor of his studio looks like his painting) or like Mark Rothko who just drew colored rectangles. Or ā€œBlood red mirrorā€? Why do people pay millions of dollars for something that looks like it took no effort to create?

Btw: I have little not involvement in the art community, Iā€™ve just always been dumbfounded by stuff like this
