Would it be legal for profesional athletes to sell their semen for the purpose of artificial insemination?

The last two Triple Crown winning race horses Justify and American Pharaoh's stud fees are 150,000$ and 300,000$ respectively. It seems to me people would pay even more than to have kids fathered by someone like Lebron James, Tom Brady or Michael Phelps. I know from when I worked with dairy goats that when collecting semen and sing ejaculation is enough artificially inseminate 30 individuals. I have often wondered why such a market does not exist for the semen of pro athletes or even attractive male celebrities. Are there laws preventing this?
