Can you wear bedsocks longer than regular socks without changing them?

So I've been having this debate with the gf. She says you wear them for 1 day then put them in the wash, like regular socks. Now I agree socks can be worn for 1 day, but bed socks much longer.
I say several weeks between changes for them. I only wear them around the house when its cold, not actually to bed, and certainly not out anywhere. They stay clean and sweat free, so aren't even dirty after a few weeks.
