Do people who have service animals need to avoid unnecessary excitement/interaction with their animals just as much as strangers do?

Post Body

I know that it is very bad to attempt to interact with someone's service animal because it can distract them from their owner and cause life threatening lapses in monitoring whatever they are monitoring. So do the animals owners also need to act a specific way? A sort of more professional interaction with the animal in order to avoid them getting too excited or do the animals need the extra attention from their owner in order to strengthen their bond?
