Is there such a thing as a difficulty on remembering faces?

Post Body

Seriously, I feel like I'm the only person in my area who has difficulty remembering faces. A person has to go back and forth in front of me for a month straight before I can truly remember his/her face. And I will, sometimes, forget the face of an old friend or acquaintance.

This is considered kind of rude in here, perhaps because they think I don't care enough.

I also feel unsafe, because if I ever became a victim or a witness of a crime, I would never be able to describe the perpetrator's face to the police artist.

Is this thing real? Or did I just not care enough, not pay enough attention? Is there an official / medical / whatever kind of name for my condition?
