Was "le" ever used seriously (outside of the French language, of course).

I'm just being curious since most "memes" are typically funny in the beginning, then smashed into the ground by 12-years who keep the joke up for far too long, but I don't seem to ever recall a time when "le" wasn't used sarcastically, save for when 12 year olds and French people use it.
