Why do parents always ask their kids leading questions?
Post Body

I mean, not always of course. But it seems like it happens really often. And not just parents, but anyone who talks to kids, they always ask very leading questions that just prompt them to say yes or no.

Are you having a really fun time?

Is that food really tasty?

Is _____ really fun?

Did you have a great time at school today?

Are vegetables really tasty?

It seems like this is bad for their development because they're not being encouraged to open up or articulate things. They just say "yes" or "no" to whatever the parents narrate.

So I'm just wondering why it seems to happen so often. Is it some kind of paternal instinct? Or is everyone doing it on purpose?
