Am I under thinking this?

I’m usually an over thinker and I’m in the middle of recovering from a serious PTSD breakdown.
I’ve convinced myself that everything is going to be ok in the government. That we’re not going to go to war. And that we aren’t going to experience severe food shortages and price gouging.
Does anyone else hold out hope that the majority of the American people will be rescued by someone in the government who has the power to stop this?
