Why do people like the Simpsons?

Genuinely asking as someone in their 20s who has only ever seen a few episodes and clips. Can some Simpson lovers share some examples of what they love about the show, plot lines that you love, the best parts of dialogue, etc?

For context I am trying to understand why some kids in my family are obsessed with the simpsons. It seems so random lol, I would like a better understanding from other people who have seen it without having to sit through more because it has bored me to death every time I’ve tried watching it.
