I need help. Am i in the wrong? I donât drive yet, but my job is only a 30-minute walk or a 4-minute drive. Recently, itâs been freezing, snowing, or raining, so Iâve been asking my mom for a ride to work. A little side note: my mom doesnât work, so itâs not like itâs an inconvenience or out of her way. But every time she gives me a ride, she asks for $5 for âgas moneyâ or âbills.â The thing is, she always ends up getting McDonaldâs every morning, so Iâm starting to feel like that $5 isnât actually going to gas or bills. When I tell her no, she refuses to take me, and even if I give her the $5, she still brings me to work late.
Iâm just wondering if Iâm wrong for not wanting to give her money anymore. It feels unfair because that $5 is clearly not covering gas, and it seems like she always has enough money for cigarettes, weed, and fast food. Meanwhile, my boyfriendâs parents live two roads down from me, and they give me rides for free.
On top of that, I also pay her $50 a week for âbills,â and my sister has to pay her $100 a week for the same. It just doesnât feel right, especially when sheâs always got money for other things and i work hard for my money and i really dont make enough to keep giving her 5$ everyday plus 50 a week to save up for anything. Am I being unreasonable for feeling frustrated about this?
