is it actually that simple to move countries?
Post Body

i’m american and i constantly see people saying “i’m considering moving to X country due to how things are going here” which i completely understand the desire to get the hell out of here but it has always been my understanding based on the experiences of others i know trying to move countries without knowing anyone there is that it’s extremely hard and there are tons of pre requisites, especially small european countries. i know some countries like ireland have programs where you can obtain citizenship by way of ancestry but that doesn’t apply to a lot of people and even if it does it’s a whole process.

however i see so many people throw the idea of moving countries so casually that i know for a fact don’t have the pre requisites, so im starting to wonder if i have the wrong impression of moving. im really just curious since ive never looked into it really myself but i have traveled a good deal.
