When people ask me what I prefer to be called I tell them 2 different names and that either one is good. Is that an odd response to that question?
Post Body

For example, say my real name is Michael and someone asks me if I prefer Michael or Mike. I tell them:

"I like both Michael and Mike. Either way is good with me. I prefer Mike a little more but both are good".

Is that response strange at all? I'm asking because one or two times I responded that way and I think the person asking me took it as an odd response.

One time a person at work said "were just trying to connect with you. You can say which name you prefer".

Then, another time someone just looked at me in confusion for like 5 seconds after I said that response.
