I often hear women quote things along the lines of “because we live in a patriarchy” or “xyz happens because of the patriarchy “ which in some cases could be true but then there are many people adamant that we do not.
A common argument is that most positions of power are held by men “for no reason other than that they are men” but I have also heard counter arguments that men tend to reach those positions because masculine traits tend to give individuals an advantage when it comes to competition and that women who have “masculine “ personality aspects tend to also rise to positions of power.
To clarify these are not MY arguments but rather arguments that I have heard from others.
