Why do Americans ALWAYS say their specific city/state instead of saying "USA"?
Post Body

I’m part of a global network in my field, and when Americans post stuff, they’ll just use abbreviations.

Like, “What are the best grad schools in ND?”

We know you’re American just by saying that, but we don’t know these places.

Do you guys genuinely think we know/care about American cities so much? 🙃

I can’t be the only one that finds it kinda rude.

Edit: I know USA is big, but I always tell people I’m from Australia (also very big). I just don’t understand why the use of state/city abbreviations (e.g ND) that no one knows?
