Hello! I ordered myself an 8 inch round cake for my birthday. It has an image printed on it and some small kid sized rings ontop. I can't drive so I have to take an uber to get the cake and bring it home. I know it will come in a cardboard cake box from the bakery but when I was there I saw a lady walk out with her cake and the top of the box had to be propped open while she carried it out of the store. I am worried about this with my cake. I am extremely off balance and have issues holding onto things, I have a major fall at least twice a year. I have to take a flight of stairs to get into my apartment once I get home, we do not have an elevator. On top of all that it is also raining here today so everything is wet and slippery.
What is my best course of action? I am having major anxiety over this (I already have clinically diagnosed anxiety but this is making it insanely worse) I feel like I am going to be too nervous to transport this cake home myself. I am considering ordering an "Uber Courier" to deliver it to me instead since I feel like I could fuck this up really badly.
So now for the million dollar question: How can I get this cake home safely?? Should I try and get an uber driver to deliver it to me and just tip $25-$30 for the delivery (the cost of me ubering there myself to get it) or should I just trust myself to not drop the cake or fall with it? If I go to get it should I try putting it into another box or into some bag??
Sorry this is rambly I am kinda freaking out, I am supposed to pick up this cake in 4 hours.
