Hi, so i know that stealing is bad, i have strong values and morals and totally disapprove this act but i can't find pertinent wording to explain to the person who has this habit how bad it is, it seems so obvious for me that I'm speechless...
- He doesn't steal for the adrenalin
- He doesn't steal because he fundamentally need the item
- He definitely could afford paying for it
- He does it because it's easy and it's now became an habit his mum can do the same so it's kind of normalised for him
- imo he doesn't measure how bad it is...
His arguments are like: - taking some cheap item at Target is okay because they are already making tons of profits on other items he buys - they are the thieves because they sell $5 something that cost them $0.2 - (he works partly on construction sites) they will not notice 1 missing pail of paint less, and it makes no difference for them - and some more that i forgot, it drives me so much crazy, my brain can't process clearly!
Before throwing your tomatoes at me, please remember that it's not me that you need to convince, i will never take from someone else (even if it's a big firm) something without authorisation or paying for it, and if i can't afford it or don't want to pay for it, then i leave it obviously... I'm also self-employed and got very pissed when employees stole from me already got robbed and it's an awful feeling... but please help me build a well-structured speech to expose to him 🙏
Thanks!
