Is it bad to use your last job as examples in how you handled situations in an interview?
Post Body

Had an interview yesterday and I feel like I couldā€™ve worded things better but Iā€™m not sure.

I didnā€™t necessarily ā€œbad mouthā€ my employers but like they asked me like when was a time I disagreed with my employees or managers and how did I handle it? And I just said ā€œThere sometimes were unethical things like slamming accounts but I didnā€™t really stand for that, so I would confront them, I like to make sure the work environment is great for everyoneā€

They didnā€™t ask me about a time I didnā€™t like my job. But I did emphasize how I was excited to start a corporate journey and get out of retail to learn more. And I would talk about what I didnā€™t appreciate about the work culture and asked them questions about how they handled their situations.

Did I screw up? I didnā€™t say like ā€œOh yea this job was so bad and our managers did nothing and screw this and thatā€ I think one of the things I said also is I used as an example where I had to go to another manager because the assistant manager didnā€™t listen to my input on certain situations and I told them that was the last resort as I was very direct and they said they liked the answer so idk.

This is my first corporate job so I wanna be sure I didnā€™t mess up the interview
