Why are polygraphs still used?

I’m confused why they’re still taken if the results are so often not admissible in court due to a lack of scientific reliability. I understand the flare and appeal for a TV show or movie, but I’ve heard of people still taking them even if they’re beatable and subjective

Edit: I know some government agencies use them to screen candidates. I’m thinking more about their use in the us criminal justice system
