I have a full time job with pretty decent benefits. The problem: itβs 30 miles away, and I ride a motorcycle in dangerous LA traffic. Takes 60 min to get home. With a car takes 75-90 and I lose my mind.
I can take a per diem (think substitute teacher), 20% higher pay, but no benefits. That means I probably would have to start all over building up vacation times WHEN I get a part or full time job. The good news: I would be just 10 miles away (two exits), no more panicking about traffic, no more worrying if my bike will start, and maybe losing sight of benefits that will keep me chained for 30 years could actually propel me to do something bigger independently.
Financially I can still survive but not make nearly as much (I would make $70/hour)
Is it a complicated choice or would someone wise enough know which route would lead to a happier life?
