Are younger people secretly leveraging older people's inability to hear higher frequencies in various subtle ways?
Post Body

As we age and the little hair cells in our ears that conduct sound die off, we become less able to hear high-frequency sound, as follows:

  • 20,000 Hz: A healthy young person's hearing range
  • 17,000 Hz: A teen or adult in their twenties can typically hear
  • 16,000 Hz: A person in their thirties can typically hear
  • 15,000 Hz: Difficult for people over 40 to hear
  • 12,000 Hz: A person in their 50s can typically hear

Given this, are the youths messing with those of us older folks without our ability to even hear what they're doing??
