Why does it seem like male dogs are sweeter and more affectionate than female dogs?
Post Body

*please no sexist remarks or jokes. We’ve all heard them before and it’s not funny.

I have a male and female dog, both “rescues” from a neglectful family member and a bonded pair. Ive had them 3 years now and the male is by and far more affectionate, needy, and always wants to be near me. While the female is sweet at times and has definitely mellowed since being in a stable environment where she is taken care of, she is still testy. We call her “fun-fighter mcdoom” for a reason lol. She is also a cuddlebug (at times)and wants to be near me, but it seems to be more out of separation anxiety than affection.

I’ve talked to other people in my life with male and female dogs and for the most part we all agree. Why is this?
