Just a thought as phones these days are pretty ridiculous in terms of specs, even lower entry model phones tend to have 6-8GB of ram and a pretty fast multi-core processor. Really the only thing a phone lacks is a dedicated GPU which with modern mobile CPU's it kind of makes up for it.
I just think about how well emulators run on flagship devices from even 5 years ago. Gamecube full speed on my old Note 9 is not that unrealistic. Not that the Gamecube is that pinacle of graphics or gaming but the fact that its able to emulate something so modern in a very usable way has to speak to its capabilities.
Just my two cents, I know a lot of people wouldn't want to see gaming develop in this way, but the more I think about it the more I see phones replacing home consoles.
