Why do so many people say you shouldn’t work if you don’t need to, but some people work A LOT?
Post Body

I have a full time job and a per diem weekend job (maybe do 5-7 weekends a year). I had a paid day off at my full time job ($57/hour), and picked up a shift at the per diem job ($47/hour).

When I first started this career, I was extremely excited at the thought that I made over $330 in 8 hours (before tax). But that excitement wore off and actually seems like not a lot, after all, someone making 200k a year which is still on the low side makes $100/hour.

But I’m changing my perspective to be willing to pick up extra shifts even if it’s $10 less an hour ($80 less for the day), because $375 (before tax) is better than $0…or is it?

Some people say I don’t live to work, but others say if you’re a young single man and don’t work 80 hours a year you’re lazy. Even a lot of 8 figure earner worker many hours. I only make low 6 figures but if it still worth working a lot for?

Sure I’m a little tired at work but I’m also proud to be working instead of laying in bed with nothing to do?
