I recently came across something called the Mpemba Effect, which suggests that hot water can sometimes freeze faster than cold water. At first, this seems completely counterintuitive—shouldn't the colder water have a head start?
I’ve read that it might have to do with evaporation, convection currents, or even dissolved gases, but I’m still not entirely sure how it works.
Is this effect fully understood by scientists, or is it still a mystery? And in what conditions is this most likely to happen—like does it depend on the container, the temperature difference, or something else?
